THE VILLAGES SEMI-PRIVATE COURSE
A wonderful day! Thank you Volunteers, Golfers, Parents, and Teachers.

Ahhh……May 28th, marked a beautiful day at the Villages Golf Course and a wonderful day for our event.  The Villages community were in full swing with Model T car antique displays, beautiful weather and of course the Piedmont Hills High School 11th Annual Golf Tournament.  The Villages is a private course located in the beautiful San Jose foothills, amongst serene and beautiful surroundings.

The golfers, were welcomed and treated by the Piedmont Hill football players Freshman Joshua Morales & Isiah Crayon, Sophomorse James Stewart, and Juniors Martin McCastle & AZ Dyer at the direction of coaches Matt Kiesle and Greg Boyd whom greeted the golfers at their vehicles, and carried their golf bags directly to the golfers playing carts.   Much work for our football players, in a short time, but they did a wonderful job!!!!!

Upon arrival the Golfers enjoyed a putting contest where a pre-golf game putting green was available on a mound close to the Tee off line, Our coach John Holly did a wonderful job of running this pre-game contest. The winner won a cash prize of $100.00 for the pre-game contest.    The golfers received their goodie bags, sack lunches and instructions during the receiving line which was worked by several volunteers including PHHS teacher, Ms. Maria Orban, and then they were off, for a great day out on the GREEN!!,

On the green, the golfers were given superior service, by Piedmont Hills Alumni Erica Bliss and current student Kaila Bliss throughout the event on mobile golf beverage carts.  Pete Simos worked tirelessly all day coordinating volunteers and shuffling them in and off the green as well as making sure the beverage holes remained stocked.  Pete got some hole time on Beverage hole # 1 where he enjoyed golfers and received them at our Hole # 1 for contests and beverage servicing.   His on the Green Hole Volunteers included, PHHS counselor Jill Shoopman, and PHHS teacher, Ethyl Santos, whom all did a great job braving the weather and greeting our 72 golfers as they passed by on their way to the 18th hole!

Piedmont Hills Students Mariah  Bliss, Alyssa Gill, Sarah Venegas were on hand at Hole # 9 soliciting sales for first CELEBRITY GOLFER, Mr. Chandler Riner, a Piedmont Hills High Senior. Chandler Tee’d off for the Golfers on hole # 9 for $20.00 per group making spectacular shots. Chandler wow’d the crowd.

Our Piedmont Hill High Schools students Mariah Bliss, Alyssa Gill, Sarah Venegas and Michelle Koehler worked all day and then finished off the evening as our official banquet hostesses.   They greeted diners, showing them to their assigned tables, did a FANTASTIC job of selling raffle tickets, and then presented gifts and awards, with Master of Ceremonies PHHS Teacher Mr. Ken Jackson.  Ken Jackson livened up the crowd presenting raffle prizes, awards, and hosting our Live Auction which generated much funds for the fabulous Live auction prizes which were donated.   Dinner included a gourmet meal from the Villages, full table service, and wonderful deserts.

Several Senior Student volunteers donated time helping with the manual labor of the transferring of items from the outside courtyard to the banquet room, helping to create a wonderful environment within the banquet room, which was really appreciated by the Boosters.

The day was a spectacular success! great golf, great community, and lots of fun.  Community leaders included our guests and sponsor, Councilmember Chu, and Mayor Chuck Reed.

A quote from the Booster Board includes, that “the future for this event looks bright, Our single most important goal is getting all of the parents and community at Piedmont Hills High School to realize the important of community involvement supporting these types events of”

 Note:

We have a remaining Live auction Item, that will be silently auctioned to the student body and community which is a personally signed Jersey belonging to Brent Burns of the San Jose Sharks.  More detail to follow:
